Sprint Tool and Die was initially set up in 1989 by Ian Amos, who had served an apprenticeship with some traditional high pressure diecasting companies, within the Black Country and Wolverhampton.
So the roots of Sprint Tool and Die are firmly based in the die-casting industry. Many of the techniques used within high pressure dies have transferred into plastic injection mould tools and so the production of high pressure dies and plastic injection mould tools are remarkably similar.
When Ian completed his traditional apprenticeship, at Wilkes Lucas, Wolverhampton, he moved to a manufacturer of moulds for the plastics industry and soon became Toolroom Manager. It was inevitable that, within a relatively short time, Ian would set up on his own and hence Sprint Tool and Die was launched.
We are therefore highly regarded as manufacturers of high pressure dies and also offer a repair, refurbishment and modifcation service.
